Explore the Stanley region
Suitably voted the ‘tidiest town‘ in Tasmania and location for the filming of Between Two Oceans (watch the trailer), Stanley and its surrounds is home to a community of friendly people with a welcoming warmth. If you are planning a trip to the region we are always happy to provide recommendations on where else to visit and places to stay but there are also some great resources online to help get you started.
The stanley.com.au website provides a comprehensive list of tours and accommodation in the circular head region. This is a great starting point for planning your trip!
Locally, a trip to Stanley is not complete without a trip up ‘the Nut’ and the cruisy way to get to the top is on the chairlift. You will find it operating daily over the summer season. Another must is a guided tour of Woolnorth Wind Farm with our friends Laura from Woolnorth Tours, they offer a selection of different experiences to get you up close with wind power, cape grim, dairy farming and some remarkable local history.
For more information on the rest of Tasmania, discovertasmania.com.au is your best bet and will give you the ability to explore regions in more detail. If you are heading to the South of Tasmania, why not have a look at some of our scenic flights and experiences from Port Arthur.
